At Arcadia Homes Care, we believe that health without hygiene is incomplete. For stroke survivors and patients battling non-communicable diseases (NCDs), access to clean water and proper sanitation is not just a basic need it is a lifeline. Unfortunately, many of these individuals live with severe physical limitations, making it difficult for them to walk long distances in search of water. Coupled with the heavy economic burden of their illnesses, this leaves them highly vulnerable to water scarcity and poor hygiene conditions. Most of these patients depend on family members and caregivers for their daily needs. In many cases, households already struggling with poverty are unable to provide consistent access to safe drinking water and water for household use. As a result, their sanitation is often compromised, exposing them to opportunistic infections such as diarrhea, urinary tract infections, and skin diseases. These preventable conditions further deteriorate their fragile health, sometimes leading to avoidable deaths. Through our home-based care model, Arcadia Homes Care works to bridge this gap by ensuring that stroke survivors and NCD patients have access to clean drinking water, safe sanitation practices, and hygiene support. We collaborate with caregivers and community health volunteers to promote awareness on proper sanitation, safe water storage, and personal hygiene, while also seeking sustainable solutions for water access within vulnerable households. By prioritizing water and sanitation in our care programs, we aim to preserve dignity, reduce preventable illnesses, and improve the overall quality of life for these patients and their families. Our commitment is rooted in the belief that access to safe water and sanitation is a human right, and no patient should suffer or die simply because of preventable hygiene-related challenges.
